Led by Brazil, Latin American countries produce most of the world's coffee, accounting for nearly two-thirds of worldwide production. Even though consumers are embracing coffee in new forms, roasted and instant coffee will remain a potent force in Latin American coffee for the foreseeable future. Companies are investing in expansions, new production lines, upgrades and automation. In Brazil, Companhia Cacique de Cafe Soluvel is making a big investment in Linhares, Espirito Santo state. The project has been under construction since January, and includes a new instant coffee production plant with an oil unit and distribution center.
