Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Much of Puerto Rico remains without power and more than 1 million people have no running water in the Dominican Republic in the wake of Hurricane Fiona, according to news accounts. Now a Category 3 hurricane, Fiona battered the Turks and Caicos Islands on Tuesday morning with sustained winds of 115 miles per hour, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center.
Fiona is the first major storm of the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season.
