Major steel producers in Europe are finding alternatives to produce steel packaging material that are not only safe but have improved environmental performance as well. This is due to the European Union-wide ban on usage of chromium compounds in the coating of packaged steel. Coating with chromium is one of the key steps in high-quality packaging of steel. ThyssenKrupp has invested in a new coating line, which will be equipped to produce eco-friendly and high-quality coated packaging steel.
