Aberdeen Energy Schedules Groundbreaking Tomorrow on a New Fuel Ethanol Plant in South Dakota
The ceremony is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. at the plant site located on the south side of U.S. Highway 12, which is roughly one mile west of the city of Mina.

Investor-owned Aberdeen Energy, LLC (Watertown, South Dakota), a subsidiary of Glacial Lakes Corn Processors Cooperative, has scheduled a groundbreaking event for tomorrow, September 21, 2006, to kick off preliminary construction activity with a silver shovel ceremony on a new fuel ethanol plant that will be located in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
The plant will be designed and constructed by the partnership of Fagen, Incorporated (Granite Falls, Minnesota) and ICM, Incorporated (Colwich, Kansas). Construction is expected to take 18 months to complete and the plant is expected to go into operation by the spring of 2008. Cost estimates to build the plant are estimated at $140 million.
Glacial Lakes Energy, LLC will be the managing partner in the new plant. In that capacity, Glacial Lakes Energy will oversee the equity drive, construction, operation of the plant, and will hold a percentage interest in the plant.
