Advance Food Expands Oklahoma Meat Processing Plant

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Advance Food Company Incorporated (Enid, Oklahoma) is moving toward a fourth quarter 2007 completion for a 195,000 square foot expansion. Initially, Advance Food planned to spend only about $20 million, but the scope of the project was expanded, along with the budget, which is now around $80 million. In addition to construction of the 195,000 square foot building, the project will involve installation of portion-controlled meat processing and packaging equipment.

The expansion project broke ground in August 2006. The general contractor, Gleeson Constructors LLC (Sioux City, Iowa), plans to have the expansion completed by October 2007. Gleeson Constructors LLC has already put up all of the steel and has started to work on constructing the roof. All of the footing around the building is already completed as well. The concrete has not yet been poured, but that should happen shortly.
