A&E Firm Selected for University Satellite Energy Facility in Michigan

Design is currently underway for the construction of a satellite energy facility to be built in phases on the northwest portion of the campus. Funding for this project is anticipated for the end of the fall of 2005. Phase I will include the construction of a 10,000 square foot plant and include the installation of three 1200-ton chillers and supporting equipment to increase the campus' electrical and chilled water piping system.

A general contractor will be selected in the fall of 2005. Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2006, with overall completion slated for the fall of 2007.

Central Michigan University was founded in September 1892. It offers more than 200 professional undergraduate and graduate programs for bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees. In 2004, total enrollment at the university was 27, 936, which included 19,934 undergraduates and 8,002 graduates.
