Released Monday, May 10, 2021
Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Sonangol (Luanda, Angola) is paving the way for the construction of new petroleum refineries in Angola. Two of these proposed refineries are the 30,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Cabinda Refinery and the 200,000-BBL/d Lobito Refinery. Angola's current refining capacity is 65,000 BBL/d.
Both refineries are at an early stage of engineering and will help curtail the country's import of oil products. As of now, completion of the Cabinda Refinery's first phase is expected in 2022, and the Lobito Refinery's completion is expected in 2025.
