Argentina's Car Assembly Plants Target Reopening Dates, an Industrial Info Market Brief

Adefa, an association that brings together vehicle manufacturers in Argentina, reported that in April no car or truck was produced in the country as a result of the shutdown of all factories since March 20 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Adefa, an association that brings together vehicle manufacturers in Argentina, reported that in April no car or truck was produced in the country as a result of the shutdown of all factories since March 20 because of the coronavirus pandemic. Companies that have resumed operation include:
  • FCA Argentina's Cordoba plant on May 20
  • Toyota's Zarate plant on May 18
  • Volkswagen Group Argentina's Pacheco plant on May 18
However, other companies continue extending their plant´s shutdowns:
  • Pirelli Neumaticos: The company officially decided to stop operations until the end of May due to COVID-19.
  • PSA will restart its Buenos Aires plant in late May
