Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Cholla Power Station, located in Joseph City, Arizona, shut down its 302-megawatt (MW) Unit 2 to repair water-wall tube leaks and a failed ID fan motor. Arizona Public Service Company (APS) (Phoenix, Arizona) owns the power station.

Plant officials said workers initially shut down the unit to replace some of the corroded water-wall tubing, but one of the ID fan motors stopped running. Repairs were ongoing. Plant officials anticipate returning the unit online Saturday, barring unforeseen delays.
The power plant has four generating units and a total capacity of 1,110 megawatts when at full load. Units 1, 3 and 4 remain online.
