Atlas Pipeline Partners Nearing Completion on Sweetwater Natural Gas Plant Expansion and Award Contracts for Another Plant Expansion

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)-- Atlas Pipeline Partners LP (NYSE:APL) (Moon Township, Pennsylvania) is nearing completion of the $45 million Sweetwater natural gas processing plant near Erick, Oklahoma. The expansion project, which should be completed in June 2008, will essentially double the plant's processing capacity from 60 million cubic foot per day (mmcfd) to 120 mmcfd by adding a new cryogenic unit with a capacity to process 60 mmcfd of natural gas and extract NGL.

The engineering and construction contract for the Sweetwater expansion project was awarded to Thomas Russell Company of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Atlas Pipeline had also awarded the field construction contract to J.E. Carlson Incorporated of Pampa, Texas.

After the expansion is complete, Atlas Pipeline plans to construct the new Nine Mile Road natural gas processing plant to be located just north of Leedey, Oklahoma. The proposed Nine Mile Road plant will have an inlet natural gas processing capacity of 120 mmcfd of natural gas and will produce an undetermined amount of NGL from a single cryogenic train. Thomas Russell Company has again been awarded the engineering and construction contract and will fabricate the modules for the new gas plant. Construction on the Nine Mile Road plant is expected to begin late 2008 with a start-up date targeted for the first quarter of 2009.
