Axion Energy, which belongs to Pan American Energy (PAE), continues to develop a refinery expansion project at its 85,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Campana refinery in Argentina. In June, the new 43,000-BBL/d gas-oil hydrofiner began operations and allowed the company to stop ultra-low imports.
In early July, Axion commenced operations at its fuel gas treatment complex. The project's construction works were finalized in March. Startup was delayed until July, but the complex is now online. The new 50,000-BBL/d Delayed Coker, also part of the refinery expansion project, is scheduled to be operational by October or November.
