Bidding Closes for Second Batch of Auxiliary Equipment for 1,200-Megawatt Yanshanhu Power Project

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--A meeting regarding the tendering for the second batch of auxiliary equipment for the 1,200-megawatt (MW) Yanshanhu Power Plant Project was held at Shenyang in northeastern China's Liaoning province from July 15 to 18.

This tendering involves 13 pieces of auxiliary equipment, involving such areas as electrical equipment, environment treatment, boiler support and oil treatment. In total, 72 bids were submitted, with 46 of these passing qualifications to be deemed acceptable. In the final public bidding, 44 of these pre-approved participants placed bids.

Yanshanhu Power Plant is located in Chaoyang city, Liaoning province. Two air-cooled 600-MW supercritical coal-fired units will be built in Phase I. The project will be built and operated by Chaoyang Yanshanhu Power Generation Company Limited (Chaoyang). A consortium jointly established by North China Power Engineering (Beijing) Company Limited (Beijing) and Liaoning Electric Power Investigation and Design Institute (Shenyang) will be responsible for the engineering of the project.

The supply contract for the main equipment for the project was awarded in early 2007, and the contract for the first batch of auxiliary equipment, including an electric dust remover, coal feeder and high voltage heaters, was awarded in May of this year. Initial bidding for the third batch of auxiliary equipment is under way. The first unit of the project is expected to be put into operation July 2010, and the second unit will be put into operation the following September.
