Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Cooperative-owned Bushmills Ethanol LLC (Atwater, Minnesota) has scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony for Wednesday, November 10, 2004, to kick-off construction of Minnesota's fifteenth ethanol plant.
Project owners and developers, along with local and state politicians, will gather at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow afternoon at the site, located West of Atwater, to begin construction of yet another ethanol plant in Minnesota.
Plans call for the construction of a nameplate 49-million-gallon-per-year dry grind ethanol plant that will chew up about 17 million bushels of locally grown corn per year and also have the capability to produce some 400,000 tons a year of distillers dried grains.
Bushmills Ethanol selected ICM Incorporated (Colwich, Kansas) as the engineering firm for the project. Leading ethanol plant builder, Fagen Incorporated (Granite Falls, Minnesota), will be the prime construction contractor.
Some site preparation work began back in October of 2004 on this estimated $66 million plant, and construction is scheduled to be completed by November 2005, just in time for the new corn harvest.
Bushmills Ethanol LLC is comprised of some 350 farmer and private investor members looking to add value to its corn crops.
Minnesota currently is home to thirteen operational ethanol plants that can produce over 360 million gallons per year of the renewable fuel. Three plants are now currently under construction in the state. Northstar Ethanol is building a plant in Crystal Lake, Minnesota; Granite Falls Energy is building in Granite Falls; and another four new plants are in various stages of development.
