Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The operational windfarms in Canada supply approximately 2,800 megawatts (MW) of generation, representing only about 2.7% of the country's total operational capacity of 101,411 MW. Ontario has the most wind generation with 1,240 MW, followed by Quebec with 665 MW, Alberta with 509 MW, Saskatchewan with 171 MW, and Nova Scotia, Manitoba and Prince Edward Island with less than 100 MW each.

- British Columbia: 6,084 MW
- Quebec: 5,902 MW
- Ontario: 4,274 MW
- Alberta: 3,682 MW
- Manitoba: 3,343 MW
- New Brunswick: 2,051 MW
- Newfoundland: 1,225 MW
- Saskatchewan: less than 1,000 MW
- Nova Scotia: less than 1,000 MW
- Prince Edward Island: less than 1,000 MW
The country's operational wind and hydroelectric generation capacity currently exceeds 51,000 MW. With the addition of new wind and hydroelectric generation capacity, approximately 49,000 MW, this would bring Canada's renewable generation capacity to roughly 100,000 MW.
