Cheniere Energy Cuts Gas Feed at Two LNG Plants by 1 Billion Cubic Feet per Day - U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer Cheniere Energy (Houston, Texas) on Tuesday reduced its combined feed gas intake at two of its plants by about 1 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d), according to data provider LSEG. The combined reduction in gas usage from Cheniere's Sabine Pass, Louisiana, and Corpus Christi, Texas, plants helped push overall U.S. feedgas consumption to a four-week low of 11.2 Bcf/d, the data showed. Sabine Pass intake fell on Tuesday by slightly more than 350 million cubic feet per day to 3.9 Bcf/d, from 4.2 Bcf/d on Monday, LSEG data showed. At Corpus Christi, gas intake dropped 600 million cubic feet per day, to 1.64 Bcf/d on Monday and Tuesday, from 2.25 Bcf/d on Sunday, LSEG data showed. Eni Wins Two Egyptian Oil & Gas Blocks - Italy's Eni (NYSE:E) (Rome) was the big winner in an Egyptian auction for oil and gas exploration rights on Tuesday, securing concessions for two of the four blocks outright, according to results from the petroleum ministry. The Egyptian government in July announced the start of a $1.8 billion program to drill natural gas exploration wells in the Mediterranean Sea and Nile Delta. (Reuters)

Chevron Readies New Drilling Push in Venezuela - Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) (San Ramon, California) plans to add 65,000 barrels per day (BBL/d) of Venezuelan oil output by the end of 2024 through its first major drilling campaign in the nation since Washington allowed it to restore production clipped by U.S. sanctions, three people familiar with the matter told Reuters. Chevron's joint ventures with Venezuelan state oil company PDVSA (Caracas) now produce some 135,000 BBL/d and have exported an average 124,000 BBL/d to the U.S. this year, according to independent estimates and shipping data, near levels acheived before Washington imposed sanctions in 2019.
