China Datang Corporations Gansu Branch (CDT Gansu) has received the bid award notice from International Bidding Company of China National Machinery and Equipment Import and Export Corporation (CMEC) for the 45 MW Xingquan Windfarm at Jingtai, Baiyin in Chinas northwest Gansu province.
Since the establishment, CDT Gansu has attached high importance to the development of wind power project according to the principle of equal development in thermal and hydropower with prominence to wind power. The company also deems the development of wind power as an important measure in promoting the goal of energy-saving and emissions reduction in the company. Xingquan Windfarm is a pilot project for the development of rich wind power resources in the form of franchise in Gansu province. Upon acquiring the tender, CDT Gansu established a bidding leading team with its general manager as the team leader, and submitted the bid according to requirement through two months of efforts.
The comprehensive score of CDT Gansu ranked first in the public bidding for the 45 MW Xingquan Windfarm franchise project based on the appraisal of the bid evaluation commission. According to the approval of Gansu Development and Reform Commission, the sale price to grid the 45 MW Xingquan Windfarm franchise project will be $0.0745 per kWh and the localization ratio for wind power generating units will be 85.7%.
CDT Gansu is an office and regional power company of China Datang Corporation established in Lanzhou, Gansu province on June 9, 2004. CDT Gansu currently has an installation capacity of 1,123 MW, and according to its development strategy, is planning over 4,000 MW by 2010; 10,000 MW by 2015; and 15,000 MW by 2020. Winning in the bid for the 45 MW Xingquan Windfarm franchise project is another wind power project of CDT Gansu in the new energy development field, which will be another firm step toward the realization of its development strategy.
