China Delivers its First Multi-Effect Desalination Equipment to Coal-Fired Power Plant in Indonesia

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Zonghe Seawater Desalination Engineering Company Limited (Deyang, Sichuan province) has shipped China's first multi-effect desalination (MED) equipment to the Pltu1 Indramayu coal-fired power plant in Indonesia, China Power Engineering Consultancy Corporation (CPECC) announced on July 22.

Zonghe Seawater was established in March 2007 by CPECC Technology Development Company; Dongfang Steam Turbine Company Limited (Deyang), a subsidiary of Dongfang Electric Corporation (Chengdu, Sichuan); and the Tianjin Seawater Desalination Research Institute of the National Ocean Administration (Tianjin). Since its establishment, Zonghe Seawater has signed three contracts to supply six sets of MED equipment with China National Electric Equipment Corporation (Beijing) and Dongfang Electric Engineering Company Limited (Chengdu). The shipment to the Indonesia plant is the first set. The plant will receive three 300-megawatt coal-fired units with a seawater desalination capacity of 9,000 metric tons per day. CNEEC was chosen as the general contractor.
