China is home to $6.85 billion worth of active cement projects, according to Industrial Info's project database. China has issued stricter rules on building new cement production capacity to replace obsolete facilities, and will allow one ton of new capacity to be built for a minimum of 1.5 tonnes of old capacity closed in environmentally sensitive regions, effective this year.
