City of Fremont Nears Completion of New 42 Megawatt Peaking Station
The new Peaking Station will provide 42 megawatts of additional power for the Fremont area by using a new state of the art GE Power Systems MS6001B combustion turbine generator set.

The City of Fremont Department of Utilities is nearing completion of its new Fremont Peaking Station. The Freemont Peaking Station, located in Fremont, Nebraska, is scheduled for commercial startup in May 2003.
The new Peaking Station will provide 42 megawatts of additional power for the Fremont area by using a new state of the art GE Power Systems MS6001B combustion turbine generator set. The Lon D. Wright Power Station located near the new peaking station will be responsible for the unmanned station.
The nationally recognized architectural, engineering and consulting firm, HDR Incorporated, (Omaha, Nebraska) is providing engineering services for the project. HDR has offices worldwide and has experienced working professionals across the US and abroad.
Tulsa, Oklahoma based, EDG Incorporated was awarded the construction contract for the new facility. EDG has served the Power Generation field for over 35 years and has developed a world-renowned reputation for being able to successfully carry out difficult projects.
