Colorado State Launches Construction of $53 Million Research Innovation Center

Reported by Annette Kreuger, Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Construction is now under way on the $53 million Research Innovation Center (RIC) on Colorado State University's (CSU) Foothill campus in Fort Collins. Designed by the FWA Group (Charlotte, North Carolina), the three-story, 72,000-square-foot building will include research laboratories, office space and a biotech business incubator.

The RIC was borne from CSU's infectious disease "Supercluster" research initiative. The goal of the project is to develop new products to combat infectious diseases through the combined efforts of the public and private sector. Within the RIC, businesses will work together with students and academic researchers on the development of products for the treatment of infectious diseases, including those that affect animals as well as humans.

CSU awarded the Gerald H. Phipps Construction Company (Englewood, Colorado) the contract to build the RIC (reference: Industrial Info's Pharmaceutical Tracker - Online Database). The building is slated for completion in April 2010.
