Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). FAGE USA CORP (Woodside, New York), the U.S. arm of Fage Dairy Industry S.A. (Athens, Greece), famously known internationally for its authentic Greek yogurt, has begun construction on a new production building, warehouse and office complex in Johnstown, New York. Located 180 miles northwest of New York City, the plant will process 60,000 liters of milk and produce 18,000 tons of all natural, high protein, low fat, live bacteria yogurt, annually.
Construction began this past October and the company anticipates pilot production by the end of 2007, with full operations scheduled for the spring of 2008. Production and warehouse facilities will be contained in a 120,000 square-foot building
Design, engineering and construction services have been contracted to Clough Harbour & Associates, LLP (Colonie, New York), Webber/Smith Associates, Incorporated (Lancaster, Pennsylvania), and LeChase Construction (Rochester, New York), respectively. Tetra Pak, Incorporated (Vernon Hills, Illinois) is providing the process equipment for the new plant.
