Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Cybertech Corporation (Taylors, South Carolina) has restarted a former plant water-based polymers plant in Taylors, South Carolina in January of this year. Cybertech acquired the plant from Rohm and Haas Company last year and has restarted the plant to produce similar polymers and adhesives.
Rohm and Haas closed the plant in December of 2001 and only relocated a small portion of the equipment to other plant locations. Cybertech currently employs approximately 25 people and plans to ramp up production between now and the end of the year with employment eventually totaling near 100 people. Expansion plans for the site are at least a year or more away as Cybertech looks to utilize all existing equipment to its full potential during this first year of operation under new ownership.
