Saudi Arabia Oil Exports Rise in July - Saudi Arabia's crude oil exports in July rose to 7.622 million barrels per day (BBL/d) from 7.456 million BBL/d in June, official data showed on Monday. (Reuters)

Canada Government Grants Extension to Proposed TransCanada Pipeline Project - Canada has given TransCanada an extra year to decide whether to build a pipeline expansion that would move shale gas to the planned Pacific NorthWest LNG export terminal in British Columbia and the regional grid. Arizona Could Boost Renewable Portfolio Standard to 30% - The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) (Phoenix, Arizona) is considering an increase in the state's renewable portfolio standard. The ACC would raise Arizona's standard to 30% by 2030, from the current 15% by 2025, which was launched in 2007. (IIR)

Permian Acreage Sells for More Than Before Downturn - This Bloomberg article discusses how the Permian Basin's low break-even costs and ability to have multiple horizontal wells drilled is making acreage there sell for more than it did before the 2014 downturn. (Bloomberg)

IEA: Global Energy Spending Fell 8% in 2015 - Investment in global energy projects dropped 8% in 2015 but remained strong in the electricity sector. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA) the electricity sector led a broad reorientation in spending, but there was a larger decline in oil and gas upstream spending. Total investment in the energy sector reached $1.8 trillion in 2015, down from $2 trillion in 2014, according to its first ever World Energy Investment 2016 report. (IIR)

SoCalGas Completes More Aliso Canyon Well Tests - More wells passed safety inspections at the Aliso Canyon natural gas storage facility in Los Angeles, Southern California Gas Co said on Monday, but the company has more work to do before it can inject gas into the field the utility shut last fall due to a massive methane leak that was not plugged until February.
