U.S. Crude Oil Supplies Decline - The U.S. Energy Information Administration reports that U.S. crude oil supplies for the week ending September 16 declined by 6.2 million barrels, helping lift the price of oil. (Bloomberg)

Atlantic Coast Pipeline Signs Construction Contract With Spring Ridge Constructors - Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC, which has proposed a 600-mile natural gas transmission pipeline to bring much-needed energy to Virginia and North Carolina, on Wednesday announced it has signed a construction contract with Spring Ridge Constructors LLC, a joint venture of leading natural gas pipeline construction companies. Nigeria Sues Oil Majors Over 'Illegal' Oil Exports - Nigeria is suing several leading oil companies for $12.7 billion of crude oil that allegedly was exported illegally to the United States between 2011 and 2014, officials said Tuesday. The Federal High Court in Lagos begins hearings next week in cases filed against Nigerian subsidiaries of U.S. multinational Chevron (NYSE:CVX), British-Dutch Shell, Italian ENI's Agip, France's Total (NYSE:TOT) and Brasoil of Brazilian Petrobras (NYSE:PBR), according to the court register. Wind Power Shows Increase in Texas - So far this year, natural gas has fueled nearly 47% of Texas power generation, versus 48% in 2015. Coal plants have supplied nearly 26% of 2016's electric supply, down from 28% in 2015. Wind has accounted for nearly 15% of the fuel mix this year, up from nearly 12% last year. Nuclear has supplied 12% of the fuel mix this year, up from 11% from 2015. (Argus)

Norway Oil Workers Strike - More than 300 Norwegian oil service workers went on strike on Wednesday after wage talks broke down, hitting operations of five large subcontractors to the country's oil and gas industry, the Industri Energi trade union said. A total of 335 workers at Schlumberger (NYSE:SLB), Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), Baker Hughes (NYSE:BHI), Oceaneering and Oceaneering Asset Integrity were part of the initial round. (Reuters)
