Canada Approves Pacific NorthWest LNG Project - Canada has approved the construction of the $27 billion NorthWest LNG project with 190 conditions to limit the environmental impact of the project. U.S. Crude Inventories Fall for Fourth Week - The U.S. Energy Information Administration reports that U.S. crude stockpiles fell by 1.9 million barrels for the week ending September 23, marking the fourth consecutive week of declines. (Reuters)
Crude Prices Jump on OPEC Deal - Oil prices jumped as much as 6% on Wednesday after OPEC sources said the group has reached a deal to limit crude output at its policy meeting in November, a source for the producer group said. (Reuters)

SaskPower Awards Burns & McDonnell EPC Contract for Saskatchewan Power Plant - SaskPower has awarded a contract to Burns & McDonnell for comprehensive engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the new Chinook Power Station, a 350-megawatt natural gas-fired power facility to be located in southwestern Saskatchewan. Rhode Island Power Project has Plenty of Opposition, No Water - A proposed, natural gas-fired generating station in Rhode Island has drawn heavy local opposition and has twice failed to secure a source of water, casting doubt on its potential to move forward. The two-unit, 900-megawatt Clear Water Energy Center is being developed by Invenergy LLC (Chicago, Illinois). (IIR)
