The project development took place between 2007 and the end of 2009, when the first Brazilian federal auction, which was exclusively for this resource, was performed, and Desenvix secured a power purchasing agreement for 34 MW in total. Site preparation works began right after the auction.
The total investment was worth 425 million reais, of which 268 million was financed by the Banco do Nordeste do Brazil (BNB).
For this Project, Desenvix contracted Alstom (Levallois-Perret, France), which was responsible for supplying the aerogenerators and the electromechanical erection, as well as the towers and substations. Engevix Engenharia (Sao Paulo, Brazil) was responsible for civil construction and transmission lines.
Operation and maintenance for the Bahia windfarm complex is conducted by ENEX-O&M de Sistemas Eletricos (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and by Alstom during the first 10 years.
