Dessert Producer Expands Operations in New Jersey

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Fine Italian desserts producer Bindi USA (Totowa, New Jersey) has begun construction on a new cold-storage facility in Kearny, New Jersey. Located on a 3.4-acre site along the Belleville Turnpike, the new facility is expected to be complete in late spring or early summer this year.

Groundbreaking took place last December for the 43,000-square-foot building, which will include freezer, office and storage space. Campanelli Companies (Braintree, Massachusetts) was retained by Bindi as the general contractor for the project.

Future expansion of the facility is planned to begin next year and will include manufacturing operations and additional storage space. The initial construction and expansion projects have a combined total investment value of $15 million.

When completed, the new facility is expected to employ about 50 workers. Reports suggest that the company plans to relocate its headquarters to the new facility. Bindi employs about 120 people at its manufacturing and distribution facilities in Belleville, New Jersey.
