Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Privately held specialty foodservice provider, Distribution Plus Incorporated (Wilmette, Illinois), is underway on an expansion project at its Midwest distribution center, located in Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Distribution Plus selected Environmental Structures Incorporated (Hartland, Wisconsin) as the general contractor for this estimated $13.5 million project. They are scheduled to be on site for the next nine months, until the project is completed in July 2005.
The expansion involves adding 96,000 square feet of refrigerated storage and docks to the existing 67,000 square foot building. New offices will be on the second floor of the new structure. Once completed, the company will have about 190,000 square feet under roof.
Distribution Plus has seven distribution centers, which when combined, offer in excess of 32 million cubic feet of warehouse space across the country, almost half of which is temperature-controlled. The company manages its own nationwide deliveries using state-of-the-art computerized routing systems and delivery vehicles. Its national scope gives the company special insights into the tastes of local, regional, and national markets.
