NATURAL GAS
U.S. Natural Gas in Storage Rises - The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said U.S. utilities injected 43 billion cubic feet of gas into storage during the week ended April 17. The increase boosted stockpiles to 2.140 trillion cubic feet (Tcf), 20.5% above the five-year average of 1.776 Tcf for this time of year. (Reuters)

North Dakota Flaring 19% of Natural Gas Production - Natural gas production in North Dakota grew to average 2.9 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) in 2019, but 19% of that natural gas is being flared or burned off, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). Gas production in North Dakota was only 0.3 Bcf/d in 2010. That is an 827% increase by 2019, the EIA said, citing a new report from the North Dakota Oil & Gas Division. (Kallanish Energy)
