Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Enterprise Products Partners LP (NYSE:EPD) (Houston, Texas) has resumed shipments of refined products from its reactivated and revamped Vidor Marine terminal, which is located on the Neches River at mile marker 50, in Texas.
The terminal required additional river dredging, a pipeline addition, a vapor recovery system and additional vessel load-out arms. There are storage tanks for refined products at the terminal, but they have not been activated. Future plans may include refurbishing the tanks to pass the API-653 inspections; but for now, refined products will be delivered via pipeline and loaded directly onto vessels.
The ship berth has a 40-foot draft and can load Panamax-size ships. The dock can load up to 15,000 barrels per hour. Demand is rising for the additional loading of refined products due to shale plays in all the major basins.
Enterprise's Southern Complex is directly connected for refined product receipts from the Colonial Pipeline and 10 refineries in southeast Texas, representing 3.3 million barrels per day of refining capacity. The first cargo was loaded on May 20.
Enterprise also is planning a Phase III expansion at its ECHO crude oil storage terminal on the Houston Ship Channel in Houston, Texas.
