Europe's DACH Region Sees Nearly $730 in Capital Plastics Projects

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--In order to meet growing demand for plastics, many companies are investing in the Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH) region.

One of the major driving factors of this increasing demand is a new requirement by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation Building and Nuclear Safety, under which single-use plastics will not be allowed, and items such as plastic straws, cutlery, cotton buds and food containers will be banned unless made with recycled plastic.

BASF (Ludwigshafen, Germany) is planning to invest about $20 million in plastic-recycling projects, followed by MOPET Gmbh (Markranstädt, Germany), which is investing nearly $20 million.
