Future Production Plant Considered for German-Based Company

Traxit North America (Memphis, Tennessee), a subsidiary of Traxit International (Schwelm, Germany), is evaluating its options and potential site locations for a new wire drawing dry lubricant plant. Plans for this new plant have been underway for several years, as originally reported by Industrialinfo.com in January 2001. Initially, studies included the possibility of constructing a 5,000-ton-per-year dry lubricant plant in Memphis, Tennessee, or another location in the United States.

Current project studies include the evaluation of plant sites in Germany or China, where Traxit has existing production facilities that produce and distribute wire drawing lubricants worldwide. Future market demand and the selection of a plant site will dictate the construction schedule expected to begin as soon as next year.

Traxit anticipates continued growth for its lubricant products in Eastern Europe and in most of Asia in the near future. A final decision on the new plant location could be made as early as next year.
