Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Privately held, Golden Peanut Company (Alpharetta, Georgia) the country's largest peanut shelling and processing company, is constructing a new peanut processing plant (Plant 1062603) in Blakely, Georgia.
America is going low carb and diet crazy. To meet the growing demand for peanut flour, the main ingredient found in most nutritional, weight control and energy bars, Golden Peanut has decided to construct a new $8 million plant to increase production of peanut flour, peanut oil, and peanut extract.
Currently, the tilt-up concrete walls and storage tanks are being erected in Blakely on a 70,000 square foot production building. The building is being constructed under the direction of general contractor, Bates Engineers & Constructors Incorporated (Bainbridge, Georgia). The contractor hopes to have the building enclosed by early Spring in anticipation of the process equipment arrival by May of 2004.
Completion and start-up of the new plant is expected by August of this year.
Golden Peanut is a leading handler, processor and exporter of raw, processed and related USA peanut products worldwide, as well as a reliable supplier of peanuts from major origins from around the world. The company operates seven shelling plants and seven cold storage facilities across the United States.
