The Philippines' Mining Industry Coordinating Council (MICC) will soon begin audits in the country's mining industry, including complete environmental evaluations of all mines operational this year.

Philippine miners are required to go through three administrative and environmental audits every year, which often hamper the annual ore output. A recent presidential order, Executive Order No. 79, mandates the MICC to review all regulatory requirements for mineral operations in the Philippines, and to check on the environmental impact of every active project once every two years.
