Halliburton Quarterly Profit Rises 85% - Oilfield services firm Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL) (Houston, Texas) posted an 85% rise in first-quarter adjusted profit on Tuesday as a rally in crude oil prices boosted demand for its services and equipment. The company's adjusted net income was $314 million for the quarter ending March 31, compared with $170 million a year ago. (Reuters)

Denmark's North Sea Gas Production Could Increase 25% - Denmark's bid to boost production of natural gas from its existing fields in the North Sea could amount to an increase of as much as 25%, the country's Energy and Climate Minister Dan Joergensen told a press briefing on Tuesday. In efforts to free itself from Russian gas, the government on Tuesday proposed to increase production of gas in the North Sea as well as drastically increase its renewable energy production. (Reuters)

U.S. Gas Futures Slump 8% - U.S. natural gas futures fell 8% on Tuesday due to a shift to a slightly warmer weather outlook after expectations of a cold snap had sent prices soaring to 13-year highs in the previous session. Front-month gas futures settled at $7.176 per million British thermal units. (Reuters)
