Hunt Oil Company Pursues LNG Opportunity in Peru
First LNG export from the new production train is expected in mid to late 2008.

Privately held, Hunt Oil Company (Dallas Texas) is planning to construct a new natural gas liquefaction plant in Peru (PEC 71300114). The new Camisea LNG production train will be located approximately 169 kilometers south of Lima on the coast near Pampa Melchorita. Hunt Oil has contracted the services of KBR, a divison of Halliburton (NYSE:HAL)(Houston, Texas) to conduct the front-end engineering and design study for the proposed $900 million facility. The new LNG production plant will take the form of a single train processing facility with a natural gas inlet capacity of 545 mmscfd and will produce 4.4 million tons of LNG per year for export to the markets of Mexico and the U.S.
Hunt Oil expects to select an E+P+C vendor in early 2006 and begin construction in the summer of the same year. First LNG export from the new production train is expected in mid to late 2008. Hunt Oil is involved in major oil & gas production projects in the US Canada and Yemen. The Company is also involved in a second LNG project in Yemen designed to bring over 10 Tcf of natural gas to world markets in the form of LNG from a planned 6.15 million ton per year twin train production plant.
