SCANA Pulls Plug on Massive South Carolina Nuclear Power Project
Citing cost-related issues, South Carolina Electric & Gas Company, the principal subsidiary of SCANA Corporation, plans to halt construction of two new nuclear units at the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station in Jenkinsville, South Carolina. Among other things, the company cited uncertainty regarding the availability of production tax credits and the amount of settlement payments stemming from the bankruptcy of Westinghouse, the project's engineering firm. The additions have a total investment value of $15 billion. (Plant: 1011884)

Phillips 66 Borger Refinery Recovering After Weekend Storm
A storm on Saturday knocked crude units offline at Phillips 66's 145,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) refinery in Borger, Texas. The 67,000-BBL/d Crude 28, along with the 41,000-BBL/d Crude 9 and 37,000-BBL/d Crude 10 units were forced offline. Due to the crude unit outages, the 25,000-BBL/d Delayed Coker was put into recycle mode, and operating rates at all other units at the refinery were reduced by 50%. The crude units were in the process of coming back online Monday. (Plant: 1013020)

Tesoro Pushes Back Maintenance on New Mexico Refinery
Tesoro has rescheduled a plant-wide maintenance turnaround at its 26,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) refinery in Gallup, New Mexico. Previously slated to occur this October 2018, the work is now expected to take place in February 2022. (Plant: 1015305)

Phillips 66's Wilmington Refinery in California Returns to Normal Operations After July 26 Shutdown
Phillips 66's 133,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Los Angeles Refinery in Wilmington, California, has returned to normal operations following a shutdown on July 26. The Hydrogen 118 and Hydrogen Combo unit 119 & 120 were restarted. The 35,000-BBL/d Unibon Jet Diesel Hydrotreater, which was also shut down, has been restarted. The entire facility had been running at reduced rates during this event. (Plant: 1007860)
