ExxonMobil experienced a brief upset on the 210,000-BBL/d PSLA 10 crude unit on January 12 at its 500,000-BBL/d Baton Rouge, Louisiana, refinery, resulting in the unit being shut down. The unit has since returned to service.
Valero, on January 11, started a 45-day planned maintenance turnaround of the 18,000-BBL/d Delayed Coker, 10,000-BBL/d Platformer 154 and 30,000-BBL/d Heavy Gas Oil HDS units at its 220,000-BBL/d Bill Greehey Refining East Complex in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Valero restarted the 40,000-BBL/d Reformer (NRU) on January 12, after it was shut on November 27, at its 144,000-BBL/d Benicia, California, refinery. Separately, the 12,000-BBL/d Diesel Hydrotreater was shut on January 9 for undisclosed reasons.
International
Valero continues an unplanned outage, due to economics, of the 27,000-BBL/d Visbreaker at its 220,000-BBL/d Pembroke Refinery in the U.K. The unit was shut down in March due to COVID-19's effect on fuel prices, and tentatively is expected to remain offline until February.
Orsknefteorgsintez OJSC has scheduled planned maintenance at its 125,100-BBL/d Orsk Refinery in Russia. The 40,000-BBL/d Diesel Hydrotreater LCH-24-2000 and 6,000-BBL/d Reformer (1) L-35-11/300 are scheduled to be shut down in mid-March and early April, respectively, for two-week regeneration works. The 21,000-BBL/d AT-5 (Crude 5) unit is expected to go down for planned, three-week maintenance starting April 1, while month-long maintenance on the 32,000-BBL/d VGO Hydrocracker and 6,200-BBL/d Isomerization (Izomalik-2) units will start mid-April. The 21,000-BBL/d AT-5 (Crude 5) tentatively remains in reserve mode until mid-January.
Meanwhile, the 8,355-BBL/d Kerosene Hydrotreater L-24-T6/2000 is expected to be shut down for planned, three-week maintenance at the end of September, while the 27,600-BBL/d ABT-3 (Crude 3) and the 16,560-BBL/d ABT-3 (Vacuum 3) units are scheduled for maintenance during October. Meanwhile, the 6,000-BBL/d Reformer (2) LG-35-11/300-95 will be shut down for two-week regeneration works, starting early October.
Api Raffineria Di Ancona S p A started an annual plant-wide maintenance turnaround in early January of its 85,000-BBL/d Api Ancona Refinery in Italy. Completion is expected mid-February.
