IIR Top Refining News Today: October 19th 2020

Marathon on October 15, restarted the 75,000-BBL/d Ultraformer 3 at its Galveston Bay Refinery in Texas City, Texas after heavy rains from Tropical Storm Beta on September 22

Marathon restarted the 75,000-BBL/d Ultraformer 3 on October 15 at its Galveston Bay Refinery in Texas City, Texas after heavy rains from Tropical Storm Beta on September 22.

Shell Oil restarted the 24,000-BBL/d Delayed Coker today, October 19, at its 144,000-BBL/d Puget Sound Refinery in Anacortes, Washington, at reduced rates due to the COVID-19 pandemic, after planned maintenance that began October 3.

Delek US Holdings restarted the 80,000-BBL/d Crude 4 unit on October 15 at its 80,000-BBL/d El Dorado, Arkansas, refinery after it was shut down earlier that same day due to a process upset.

International
Gazprom Neft PAO restarted the 30,800-BBL/d Diesel Hydrotreater (L-24/10) Stream 1 on October 10 at its 400,000-BBL/d Omsk Refinery in Russia. The unit was shut down for unplanned repairs in early October. Separately, the 30,800-BBL/d Diesel Hydrotreater (L-24/10) Stream 2 was shut down in late September and restarted October 11.

Ryazan NPK CJSC has restarted the 7,200-BBL/d Hydrotreater L-24/7 (Block 1) and 7,200-BBL/d Hydrotreater L-24/7 (Block 2) at its 397,000-BBL/d Ryazan Refinery in Russia. The units were shut down for planned maintenance in early September and restarted mid-October. Separately, a planned maintenance turnaround of the 6,000-BBL/d Reformer Block LG-35-8/300B, 7,200-BBL/d Hydrotreater L-35-5/300 and 6,000-BBL/d Reformer L-35-5/300 is scheduled to kick off in early November.

Esfahan Oil Refining Company (EORC) has rescheduled the 30-day planned maintenance shutdown of the 22,500-BBL/d Crude Distillation 4 and 22,500-BBL/d Hydrocracker 1 at its 360,000-BBL/d (Actual: 405,000-BBL/d) Esfahan Refinery in Iran due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The turnaround was planned for October 1, but is now expected to begin by May 1, 2021. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the units by May 30, 2021. Separately, the 30-day planned maintenance shutdown of the 22,500-BBL/d Crude Distillation 5 has been rescheduled from December 1, to June 1, 2021. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by June 30.
