China can produce more than 1,500 kinds of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), the total output is one million tons, and the nation's export volume exceeds 60%. But India reportedly needs to import about 60% of its bulk pharmaceutical products from China, despite India's relatively large growth in the bulk pharmaceutical market in 2019.
