Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Two of the three Indian Oil Corporation (BSE:530965) (IOCL) (New Delhi) refineries that were shut down after the union workers strike have been restarted. The refineries are the 120,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Haldia refinery in Midnapur and the 240,000-BBL/d Panipat refinery in Haryana. The 274,000-BBL/d Gujarat refinery in Koyali is still in the restart process.

The refineries were shut down last week after union workers went on strike, demanding higher salaries. Workers decided on January 9 to end the strike, and the units began the restart process. The Haldia and Panipat refineries went online January 12, and the Gujarat refinery could restart by January 19.
