October 5, 2022--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The acceleration of the energy transition in Indonesia, after a study was conducted, turned out to require an investment of up to US$1 trillion by 2060 for new and renewable energy generation and transmission.
Financial needs are getting higher, considering the implementation of early retirement of coal-fired power plants in the coming years. The amount of funding required for the mobilization of all financial sources, both from private and public companies, must be the main concern so that all parties can participate. Cooperation and collaboration among all renewable energy stakeholders, including public-private and business-to-business partnerships, has an important role to play in ensuring the potential of renewable energy implementation and utilization in the country.
In the Net Zero Emission roadmap, prepared by the Indonesian government, there is an addition of up to 700 gigawatts of renewable energy generation from solar, hydro, biomass, wind, marine, geothermal, hydrogen and nuclear. To achieve this, the Indonesian government has encouraged the private sector to be more involved and participating to take part in the government's road towards net zero emissions.
