Industrial Info's Growing Number of Oil and Gas Project Reports Now More Detailed

IIR's Oil and Gas vertical projects continue to raise the bar for quality in project reports.

Released Friday, September 13, 2013

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Industrial Info has been providing top-of-the-line industrial market intelligence since 1983, before smart phones, tablets, laptops, or even consumer internet was commonplace. Over the years, Industrial Info has not only continually risen to the challenge of incorporating new technologies to meet our customers' needs, but also has come to anticipate them and provide ever-increasing levels of detail in project reports. In the past three years, Industrial Info's Oil & Gas Industry verticals have boomed in concert with the shale gas revolution, both in the number of projects and the level of detail that goes into them.

Up until 2010, Industrial Info's project reports could only hold three contacts: an Owner, a Developer, and a Site Rep. A scope from 2005, written originally in 2003, reads:
"OWNER performs a Financial Review of Issue for a Natural Gas Compressor Station #3 Unit Additions. DETAILS: As a part of the Silver Bow Project, construct buildings and install (3) Solar Saturn Turbine Based Compressor (Gas) Units and supporting equipment to support an overall system expansion of 220MMSCFD."

Another example from 2005 reads:
" OWNER performs Project Justification for a Grassroot Crude Oil Pump Station. DETAILS: As a part of the Phase II Expansion Construct Buildings and install (1) 4,000hp Electric Driven Pump and supporting Equipment & Utilities to increase Pipeline Capacity."

Each of these is missing something important, whether it is the horsepower of the turbines, or the capacity of the pipeline.

On a more recently updated project, the Details of the scope read:
"DETAILS: As part of the 430-Mile Pony Express (PXPL) Pipeline Project from WY to OK, install (1) Mile of 12" diameter transmission pipe to transport up to 100MMSCFD of natural gas from the proposed Tescott Compressor Station to interconnect to Northern Natural Gas (NNG) pipeline running parallel to PXPL existing gas-line and construct buildings and install (4) 3,550 HP engine-driven compressor gas packages with auxiliary equipment to support Tallgrass Energy's 430-Mile natural gas to crude oil pipeline conversion, currently being designed to transport between 230,000 to 320,000 BBL/d of crude oil from Minneapolis KS to Rooks County KS."

Where the examples from 2005 reached project completion as they are, this example from the past month has not yet begun construction. In spite of this difference, the more recent example provides much more detail, not simply more technical information. It gives an increased context, giving clients a better understanding of what impact this project may have on the bigger picture.

The level of context and detail given in scopes now is far beyond that of a few years ago, and continues to grow thanks to increased quality standards, as well as continued feedback from clients. As Industrial Info receives feedback from its ever-lengthening list of clients, a greater awareness of its clients' needs has developed and thus spurred Industrial Info to continually challenge itself by digging deeper into every project and provide more high-quality data of interest to its clients.
