InterGen 1,100MW Redbud Energy Project in Oklahoma on Schedule for 2003 Startup

The following is an Advisory by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Inc; Houston, Texas). InterGen North America (Houston, Texas), will set the first turbine generator this spring for the 1,100 mega-watt (MW) Redbud Energy Project in Oklahoma. The $740 million investment is InterGen's second largest power plant project in the U.S. and represents the single largest one-time private investment in Oklahoma in a decade.

Groundbreaking of the site, located on Triple X Road in Luther, Oklahoma, took place on August 16, 2001. Commercial operation is scheduled for the summer of 2003. The natural gas-fired combined-cycle power plant consists of four GE Frame 7FA's combustion turbines, Foster-Wheeler heat recovery steam generators, and a single Alstom steam turbine generator. Becthel Power, a unit of Bechtel Group (San Francisco, CA), is constructing the plant under a turnkey contract.

InterGen is a Private Energy Producer (PEP) that is jointly owned by Shell Generating and Bechtel Enterprises Energy. The Company has projects operating, under construction and/or in advanced development in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Colombia, Mexico, China, Egypt, Turkey, Brazil, Australia, and the Netherlands.

Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated (IIR) has developed a unique Power Generation Database (http://www.industrialinfo.com/espgdov.htm), which incorporates New Build Tracking, Combustion Turbine Profiles, and Maintenance Outage Tracking into a single source dynamic database format.
