Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The U.S. meat and poultry segment is seeing a rise in capital expenditures related to new plant construction, expansions and equipment upgrades. Industrial Info is tracking more than $4.9 billion in project spending plans that are in the planning, engineering and early construction phases. Project expenditures range from $1.4 million to $270 million for more than 350 individual projects.
Low feed prices and rapidly growing cattle herds, along with strong domestic and export markets for poultry products, are among the key contributors to the health of the segment.
