Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Midwest region of the United States has several Industrial Manufacturing Industry projects that are planned to wrap up construction and begin operations by the end of the year. Industrial Info is currently tracking 85 Industrial Manufacturing projects with a total investment value of $1.65 billion that are planned to be completed by the end of the year in the Midwest.

A substantial portion of this figure is Ford Motor Company's (NYSE:F) (Dearborn, Michigan) $1.1 billion expansion of the company's Claycomo assembly plant in Kansas City, Missouri. Walbridge Aldinger (Detroit, Michigan) is providing general construction services for the expansion, which includes construction of a 450,0000-square-foot stamping plant, plus major renovations and additions to the existing paint shop and new tooling in the final assembly area to prepare for production of Ford's Transit Commercial Van & the Next-Generation F-150 Truck. The Foley Company (Kansas City, Missouri) was selected to provide mechanical services for the expansion, which is expected to be completed by mid-September. Ford expects to create 1,500 new jobs once the expansion is complete.

Another project that is planned to be wrapped up this year is the $39 million expansion planned for TG Missouri Corporation in Perryville, Missouri. Robinson Construction Company (Perryville) is serving as general contractor for the expansion, which includes construction of a 33,000-square-foot building, along with the installation of specialized equipment from Japan that will enable the company to produce chrome components for grills and gear details for the Toyota Highlander SUV. Completion for this expansion is expected by the end of this year.
