NCPE Signs General Contract for Largest Integrated Solar Combined-Cycle Power Station in Asia
North China Power Engineering Company Limited recently signed the general contract for the largest integrated solar combined-cycle power station in Asia with Ningxia Yanchi Hanas Energy Company Limited.
Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--North China Power Engineering Company Limited (NCPE) (Beijing), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), recently signed the general contract for the Ningxia Yanchi Hana Gaoshawo Integrated Solar Combined-Cycle Power Station, the largest integrated solar combined-cycle power station in Asia, with Ningxia Yanchi Hanas Energy Company Limited (Yinchuan, Ningxia), a subsidiary of Hanas New Energy Group Company (Yinchuan). This is another large-scale new energy general contract signed between NCPE and Hanas New Energy Group, following the signing of the general contract for a gigawatt-level windfarm base in Ningxia in 2010, according to an announcement from the CEEC on June 25, 2012.
The integrated solar combined-cycle (ISCC) power station is a new kind of energy now emerging in China. As reported, the proposed ISCC power station will have a total installed capacity of 92.3 megawatts (MW), the largest of its kind in Asia. By taking the advantages of solar thermal power generation technology and gas-turbine power generation technology, ISCC power station could well improve the efficiency in energy utilization.
Hanas New Energy Group has kicked off the preparation for the construction of a large-scale ISCC in Yanchi since April 2010. NCPE was then invited as the consultant for pre-stage preparation. In September 2011, the project passed the pre-approval in safety evaluation. On October 12, 2011, the groundbreaking ceremony of the project was held in Yanchi County of the Ningxia autonomous region.
The official signing of the EPC general contract means that construction of the project is ready to kick off soon. According to the schedule, mechanical works for the project are expected to begin in September 2012, and the project will be put into operation by the end of 2013. Compared with conventional power plant, the project will be able to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide by about 210,000 metric tons every year upon completion, which will promote the energy conservation and emission reduction efforts in the Ningxia region.
