The following is an advisory by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). NRG Energy Incorporated (NYSE: NRG) (Minneapolis, Minn.), a Private Energy Producer (PEP), plans to begin commercial operation of a 1,600MW merchant power plant in Minooka, Illinois during the spring of 2002. LSP-Kendall Energy formally owned the Kendall County project, located 40 miles south of Chicago. The joint venture group NEPCO (Bothell, WA) a division of Enron Engineering and Construction Company (Houston, Texas) a subsidiary of Enron Corporation (OTC:ENRNQ) (Houston, Texas) and Dick Corporation (Pittsburgh, PA), is providing the engineering and construction services for this $550 million project.

The plant will consist of four GE Frame 7FA Combustion Turbines, four Foster Wheeler HRSG's, and two GE Steam Turbine Generators. The units will be brought online sequentially, starting in March 2002, with the last unit coming online mid April 2002.

Founded in 1989, NRG develops, acquires, and manages a variety of energy-related operations worldwide. NRG, one of the largest independent power producers, employs over 13,000 people with approximately 24,000MW of power generation. Xcel Energy (NYSE: XEL) (Minneapolis, Minn.) owns 74% of NRG.
