Western Farmers Electric Cooperative (Anadarko, Oklahoma), a consumer owned entity, is undertaking a multi-year capital project to upgrade control and instrumentation systems at three of its generating plants in Oklahoma. The control system at WFEC's Hugo station located four miles west of Fort Towson, Oklahoma will be upgraded in the spring of 2004. Three units at the Mooreland Oklahoma station will be upgraded in 2003, 2004, and 2007. Four of five generating units at the Anadarko station will receive upgrades from 2004 through 2007.

Some of WFEC control systems date back to 1975 and includes pneumatic and analog systems, as well as a Fisher Provox distributive control system installed in 1986. Emerson Process Management will provide the Ovation Control and Information System to all the generating units.

IIR's new Industrial Control System Database (ICS) identifies the make, model, system type, and installation date of control systems at WFEC's generating units and over 1,000 generating units across the country.
