Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Oman continues taking bold steps to accelerate the growth of its green hydrogen sector by making huge investments in the segment, and Industrial Info is tracking projects worth more than US$18 billion to produce green hydrogen and green ammonia in Oman.

The country has created Hydrogen Oman Co. (Hydrom) (Muscat, Oman), a company regulated by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, which will implement and develop most of the green projects with the world's leading and major partners, such as Shell U.K., a unit of Shell Plc (NYSE:SHEL) (London, England), the U.K. arm of BP plc (NYSE:BP) (London, England), Scatec ASA (Oslo, Norway), Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (Copenhagen, Denmark), EnerTech Holding Company (Kuwait) and InterContinental Energy (South Perth, Australia), among others.

Hydrom serves as the overall orchestrator and master planner of Oman's green hydrogen sector and facilitates the development of shared infrastructure and connected ecosystem industries and hubs. These efforts are aimed at achieving the strategic goals of Oman Vision 2040 of building a diversified, sustainable and green economy and achieving the country's target of net-zero by 2050.

Industrial Info is tracking 30 capital projects in Oman related to the production of industrial gases, including green hydrogen and green ammonia, worth more than US$18 billion. Most of these projects are likely to kick off by first-quarter 2025, with an investment value of US$2.95 billion for five projects, followed by third-quarter 2025 with US$3.1 billion for three projects.
